After dominating Queen's University as one of their all-time greats—a two-time All-Canadian and three-time All-Conference player—Brad got snapped up by the Toronto Argonauts in the 2007 draft. He played five seasons with the Argos and Montreal Alouettes before a trade to the Edmonton Eskimos in 2009. Retiring in 2011, At Queen’s he left a legacy that's still untouched: inducted into the Queen's Football Hall of Fame in 2021 and holding the record for career TD receptions at 24.

BACHELOR CANADA

In a twist of fate, Brad never even applied to be Canada’s first Bachelor—but as casting wrapped, producers caught wind of his natural charisma and signed him by April 2012. When the show premiered that October, it became an instant hit, dominating ratings nationwide as Brad’s down-to-earth charm stole hearts and commanded attention. The season’s success didn’t stop there—The Bachelor Canada went on to be syndicated around the world, introducing international audiences to Brad’s unmistakable authenticity and charm.

BREAKFAST TELEVISION

Kicking off as a correspondent at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), Brad's sharp edge got him upgraded to co-host and entertainment correspondent on Breakfast Television. He grilled A-listers like Taylor Swift, Will Ferrell, and Adam Sandler, dropping live reports from the Golden Globes, Disney World, and pioneering the first nationwide "Entertainment City's Live from the Grammys Red Carpet."

FOOD NETWORK

Brad Smith became a Food Network powerhouse as the charming host of Chopped Canada’s third season, holding his own alongside culinary legends like Mark McEwan, Susur Lee, and Lynn Crawford while turning kitchen chaos into must-watch intensity. In 2019, he took his charisma to new heights with The Big Bake — a larger-than-life series that flipped the script on traditional baking shows with jaw-dropping, oversized creations. Airing across Canada and the U.S. for nearly 100 episodes over five seasons, the show became a holiday and Halloween staple on the Food Network. Brad’s quick wit and fearless energy shone through, especially in the fan-favorite “Bonus Bake” segments, where he unleashed his acting chops and wild humor to turn every episode into unforgettable entertainment.

RESTO BOEMO & CHEF'S TABLE

Brad took his everyday passion for food further than his Food Network gigs, calling himself just an "above average home cook" at heart. In 2017, he opened Resto Boemo, a straightforward upscale fast-casual place that quickly picked up Toronto Life's Best Burger nod after six months. Building on that, he started Chef’s Table by year's end—a practical spot with chef-prepared hot tables using quality ingredients for high-end meals ready fast, which resonated with busy folks in Toronto juggling work and life.

OLG GAME PLAN

Brad hosted OLG Gameplan, a weekly sports betting show sponsored by Proline that grew into Twitter Canada's largest original production. He drew on his football background and interest in betting to share insider tips and perspectives on the sports betting scene. Along the way, he interviewed athletes like Joe Montana and UFC legends, revealing a sharper, field-tested side of him beyond his food TV persona, with his on-the-ground expertise and willingness to embrace risks drawing in viewers.

iHEART RADIO

Tapped to shake up news, politics, and topical talk radio, Brad blended his insider political savvy with entertainment flair to craft a unique format that quickly marked him as a disrupter. He kept it fresh and fun, pushing critical thinking while staying raw, hilarious, and zero-apologies authentic.
